Patricia Wilson

Patricia is a mother, a grandmother, a retired teacher/counsellor, and a writer. Born in Alberta, Canada in 1948, she earned her B.Ed in 1969 and completed post-graduate courses towards her Masters in Counselling in the 70’s and 90’s. Her career in teaching and counselling began in 1968, and she retired in 2008. Her two children, her five grandchildren, and hundreds of children whom she worked with over the years led her to write five educational and inspirational books. Decades of experience with children of all ages (she taught K to Grade 12), and raising her children have steadily increased her passion for supporting children, especially those who are experiencing anxiety and depression.

Patricia is the author of THE AMAZING! TRILOGY: I AM AMAZING! WE ARE AMAZING! and LIFE IS AMAZING! written and self-published over a period of 16 years. These books promote a sense of self-worth, understanding, cooperation and gratitude in young readers.           My Magical Night Mare has helped many children develop useful skills to handle both bad dreams and bullies. WHEN GRAMMA GIGGLED         is a book that leads the readers and listeners to belly-laughs! All of her books are considered to be both timely and timeless, and have been consciously written and illustrated to nourish children’s hearts.

This little book for little hands (6” x6”), the first in THE AMAZING! TRILOGY, was written to help children develop a sense of self- worth by repeating positive phrases. “I can” is repeated 14 times to remind children what they can do, and “I AM AMAZING!”, repeated 5 times, reminds them who they are at their core. The goal is to teach the importance of positive self-talk. The earlier the better! The last couplet in the book affirms:

I will remember my whole life through
I AM AMAZING! and SO ARE YOU!

Tanya Harrington, the illustrator, has created characters without gender, race, religion, or other labels. Brilliant little figures that bring the words to life.
